Lexi Derrick
Softball Instructor
Lexi Derrick is a New Richmond High School alum and played both volleyball and softball where she earned multiple All-Conference awards. Outside of high school sports, Lexi spent her time training and playing for the Minnesota Thunderboltz, Team Minnesota and Minnesota Irish. During her time playing club softball, she helped lead her team to a 4th place finish at the 2015 USSSA World Series 16U A – Road to Orlando tournament, 1st place at the 2015 USSSA State Tournament and many other tournament wins. Lexi was named the 18U Fall MVP for the Minnesota Irish in 2015.
Following her High School and Club experience Lexi went on to play collegiate softball for the Bemidji State Beavers from 2016 – 2021. In her freshman campaign, the Beavers finished 3rd at the NSIC tournament, resulting in the best finish the Beavers have ever had. Lexi’s career was extended one year when she elected to play a 5th year after Covid ended her 4th year early. In her final year Lexi played her whole season behind the plate and finished 4th in the NSIC in runners thrown out. Lexi finished her collegiate softball career playing in 185 games. Offensively she ended her career batting a .248 with 23 doubles, 9 homeruns, 49 walks and 59 RBIs and defensively ended her career with a .972 fielding percentage and 891 putouts.
Lexi is now an assistant varsity coach at New Richmond High School. She is very excited to continue her coaching and training career with ISA West.
