Auston graduated from Webster High School where he was a three sport athlete. Playing baseball, he won a state championship in 2019. He also earned two first team all conferences hitting a .430 avg with a 1.100 ops, and 52 RBIs over 37 games his junior and senior season.

Following high school, he went on to play at Concordia St. Paul for a year where he then transferred to Century College. He currently catches on Century College's team.
